Chance

red-nose pit bull from Coatesville, PA

Chance came into our lives two years ago when I saw his picture in the local newspaper. He was a stray to our local SPCA. I went over to apply to adopt him and was rejected - because I had two cats in my home. They told me he was cat aggressive. I also found out that day that he was quarantined for 10 days for scratching a volunteer at the SPCA. I was volunteering with a local rescue group at that time and they pleaded with the SPCA to let "someone" foster Chance. I fostered Chance and life began for this magnificent animal on Friday March 17th 2006! We found out later that he was 40 minutes from being put to sleep so had my friend in rescue not intervened, he would have been euthanized that day.

Chance has been a huge challenge for both my husband and I and our other two dogs;Smiley, a staffy, and Bitty, a boxer-pit mix. We worked very hard with this big boy socializing and working with a behaviorist learning how to be good pack leaders. Today this boy has taught us much about life, how to be patient and calm-assertive. Now we all live in peace and harmony, 3 pittys and with our two cats!
