Baxter and Moosie

Almost 13 yr old white with brown patting spots and 7 month old brindle with Baxter white spots from Walden, New York

My daughter, Nicole, brought Baxter into my life when I was quite doubtful about him. He was a mere 6 weeks old.
Baxter through the years has shown me how to love. His heart is so big that he is able to love Nicole and I, if away or near. He has seen me through cancer and other operation and somehow he knew what I was feeling. He stood in bed with me as a faithful companion. When my heart was breaking he would lick every tear away with that big old tongue of his.
Now he does the same for my daughter, as her heart is breaking too.
His big old heart is giving in and we must watch him lose his vigor now.
It is us who must give him caring now.
A few months ago, I finally found him a girlfriend, Moosie. I always promised him one. He protects her like a baby.
She has white spots and the tip of her tail is white. We call them Baxter spots. He has big brown spots and we call his patting spots because that is where he loves to be patted. Moosie has much to learn from Baxter...she is sort of a wimp...we just want him to stay around and teach her for us and of course because losing him would mean no dog would help wiping our tears away or help us with out heart ache. Hope these photos will show you what true love looks like.
