This picture is my all-time favorite of the love and affection these two have brought into my life. I had just gotten home from a follow-up visit with my foot surgeon and I was tired and in pain. As I took a nap on the couch with my best friends - my Mom took this photo. I was so happy she was able to get this because it truly does capture how they were with me daily. Unfortunately, in March of 2004, my Elvis became very ill and after a long 6 months in and out of the hospital - I had to say good-bye to my then young 6 year old male. Even though it's been 4 years - I still miss his head cradled in my neck as we slept or watch tv. Athena continues to amaze me everyday - her eagerness to please me has won her multiple awards when we get dressed up for Halloween. I can go on forever as anyone who loves these dog can.
